Privacy Policy

Effective August 20, 2026

This policy explains how Daniel Croxall, operator of Federal Rules Explorer, handles personal information when you use the website and subscription service.

Information collected

How information is used

Information is used to create and secure accounts, authenticate users, process and manage subscriptions, determine research access, prevent fraud and abuse, troubleshoot the service, comply with law, and communicate about the account or service.

How information is disclosed

Information may be disclosed to service providers that support payment processing, hosting, security, and site operations; when required by law or valid legal process; to protect rights and safety; or as part of a business transfer. Federal Rules Explorer does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cookies and sessions

The service uses an essential sign-in cookie to keep you authenticated and protect subscriber-only content. It is not used for advertising. Browser controls may block cookies, but doing so can prevent account access from working.

Retention

Account, subscription, transaction, security, and legal-compliance records are retained for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including maintaining access, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and satisfying legal obligations. Information is deleted or deidentified when it is no longer reasonably needed, subject to lawful retention requirements.

Your choices and rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your account. Some information may be retained where necessary to complete transactions, maintain security, prevent fraud, exercise legal rights, or comply with law. California residents may have additional rights under applicable California privacy law, including rights to know, correct, or delete covered personal information and to receive nondiscriminatory treatment for exercising applicable rights.

Security

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Children

The service is not directed to children under 13, and personal information is not knowingly collected from children under 13.

External links

The site links to official rules, opinions, and other external resources. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Material changes will be communicated when required by law.
